Team updates – farewell Dr Finau
We are sad to share that Dr Finau finished up at OneCare last week. Dr Finau was a trusted GP for many of our patients and a valued member of our team. During his time with us, he built strong relationships with patients, whānau, and colleagues alike. We would like to sincerely thank Dr Finau for his dedication and contribution to our practice, and we wish him all the very best for the future.
If you were enrolled with Dr Finau, you will continue to receive care from our dedicated team. We will contact you if there are any changes or arrangements you need to be aware of.

Menopause myths – what's normal & what's not
Menopause is a normal part of ageing for people with a uterus, and happens when the body stops having menstrual periods. Most people reach menopause between ages 45 and 55, with the average age in Aotearoa New Zealand being 52.
Peri menopause is the transition before menopause, where you start to experience typical symptoms, including hot flushes, mood changes, and energy level changes.
Post menopause is when you have gone 12 consecutive months without a period.
What's normal during perimenopause?
Changes to your menstrual cycle
Hot flushes and night sweats
Sleep difficulties
Mood changes, anxiety, or brain fog
Changes in energy levels.
What's not normal?
Any vaginal bleeding or spotting after 12 months without a period (post menopause)
Extremely heavy or very frequent bleeding during perimenopause
Symptoms that are severe, debilitating, or affecting your quality of life.
If you have questions or concerns about menopause symptoms, book an appointment with one of our GPs or have a chat to our Health Improvement Practitioner. We're here to support you.
Thank you!
As usual, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to our reception team on 09 550 2146 or email ocoreception@onecarehealth.co.nz.
